BACK TO NORMAL IN MONTREAL ON JULY 13, 2020

As of Monday, July 13, 2020, daycares in the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) will be able to accommodate 100% of the maximum number of children. Our daycare will complete the gradual return and reopen to normal for all parents and children. The daycare's day-to-day operations will return to normal. All children will return to their normal group with the same educator as before.

The daycare centre will apply the new provisions, which the Direction de la santé publique has given for all daycare centres in Quebec, which are aimed at the return of practices that promote child development, in a safe context for all, children and workers alike. As follows:

7

  • Lifting of instructions to distance children from staff;

  • Maintaining a distance of two metres between adults;

  • Maintaining the mandatory wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) when the two-metre distance is not observed (this measure is intended to protect workers);

  • Relaxation of disinfection measures;

  • Return of previously excluded equipment and toys: pencils, paper, scissors, puzzles, books, nap toys, etc., and reduction in the frequency of disinfection of toys used by the same group;

  • Returning to basic care: application of sunscreen, etc.

Of course, basic hygiene and sanitation measures in the facilities, such as frequent hand washing, remain in place to ensure the health and safety of children and their families, as well as child care staff.
